| Crime:
ON 27th June 2026 it was reported to Police that a male was walking on Milndavie Road has acted in a threatening and abusive manner making threats of harm towards another person. Enquiries were exhausted and the suspect remains unidentified.
On 28th June 2026 Police were alerted to an assault having occurred within a business premises. Officers attended and noted details for a complaint supported by CCTV. One individual was charged in connection with this offence.
In July
A person was arrested and taken into custody for having a number of apprehension warrants. They were thereafter charged with resisting arrest.
A person was interviewed in relation to an assault after an allegation was made that they had pushed another person to the ground following an altercation. The person was released without charge due to insufficient evidence.
A driver has been charged with failing to stop and report after they reversed into a parked car and failed to exchange their details with the owner. A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
Two drivers were issued with Fixed penalty tickets for speeding within the village.
Enquiries are ongoing to trace a driver of a vehicle that collided with another vehicle causing minor damage and thereafter failed to stop and report the collision.
Incidents of Note:
Your Community Policing Team have received numerous complaints of Speeding within the Strathblane/Blanefield Area. We have on a number occasions attended in the area and conducted Speed Enforcement in response to these complaints resulting in numerous drivers being warned regards excessive speed and a number of drivers being issued with fines and penalty points.
On 17th June 2026 Police Scotland received complaint that the local bus service was unable to get through Kirkburn Road, Strathblane due to motor vehicles obstructing the road. Please be mindful when parking your vehicle, make sure it is not parked on double yellow lines, zig-zags, within no parking zones and do not park within 10 meters of a junction unless road signs explicitly allow this (Highway Code Rule 243). This rule is to allow long vehicles to turn out of/into junctions and have good visibility. Any vehicles causing unnecessary obstruction can be removed by Police and cost of recovery passed onto the owner/registered keeper.
In July again, there were several reports of fallen trees/large branches on the roads surrounding Strathblane and further reports of deer running into the pathway of oncoming cars. Drivers are reminded to be vigilant on the rural roads and report any obstructions as soon as possible. |
