Notification from Stirling Council regarding forthcoming road works on the A81 as it leaves the village towards Milngavie (Devil's Elbow):"I would like to take this early opportunity to inform you that the Council intend to carry out essential carriageway resurfacing works on the A81 Milngavie Road Strathblane commencing on or shortly after 28/9/26. These works consist mainly of resurfacing the existing carriageway, as per the attached plan. In order to safely execute these works a carriageway closure and parking restrictions will be in place during normal working hours (Monday to Friday - 09:00am to 18:00pm) / continuously from Monday 28th September 09:00am until Friday 1st October at 18:00pm. These works shall take place over a period of 5 days / 1 week(s) (excluding weekends and weather permitting). Where possible, some access may be available to properties at specific times that do not disrupt resurfacing operations, please ask the contractor onsite if required.My apologies for any inconvenience, however I'm sure you will understand the necessity to have these repairs carried out at the earliest opportunity and we aim to manage this to an absolute minimum. In the event you require assistance due to mobility issues please do not hesitate to contact me to arrange this.The contractor onsite will be able to advise you at the end of each working day, if asked, to which point the works have progressed and please feel free to ask any questions, if required.In the meantime, if you have any questions or require any further information, please contact Stirling Council on 01786 404040."Maps showing area of works, and their proposed diversion route attached.
